A Marcella man faces five felony counts of terroristic threatening after being apprehended Tuesday inside the same Walmart where he allegedly threatened a staff member, according to Stone County authorities.
Roger Mike Sorrels, 66, was arrested April 28 after a “FLOCK” automated camera system flagged his vehicle to local law enforcement. Officers with the Arkansas State Police and local investigators tracked Sorrels to the Walmart parking lot, where they waited for him to enter the store during a heavy rainstorm.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Sorrels was wanted on an active warrant involving prior threats made to a pharmacist at the location.
Upon making contact with Sorrels inside the store, officers reported finding a large switchblade knife and pepper spray in his pockets. Police allege that after being informed of the charges against him, Sorrels told the arresting officers, “I’m gonna kill all of you.”
Sorrels was transported to the Stone County Jail and charged with five counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony.
Court records show Sorrels was released Wednesday after posting a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled for his first court appearance on May 12.
