At the April 10 Red Hot Ladies Luncheon at UACCB’s Independence Hall in Batesville, the organization, celebrating its 20th year of giving, raised $21,000 in donations for The Children’s Advocacy Center of Independence County. The proceeds will help the nonprofit to continue providing free services to the children in the community.

As child abuse rates continue to rise in Arkansas, having a safe place where children can be seen, heard, and believed is more important than ever. Because of the generosity shown by luncheon attendees and participants, no child must navigate hardship alone, and families never receive a bill for the help they need most.

Representatives of the Red Hot Committee presented the Children’s Advocacy Center with the generous donation on Tuesday. Red Hot Committee members include: Kay Southerland, Julie Batategas, Joyce Prickett, Jasmine Carpenter, Amanda Cash, Paula Terrell, Glenda Bowers, and Kelli Swaim.
