Golfers are invited to pack their clubs and head to Cherokee Village for a spring day of scenic Ozark beauty, friendly competition, and small-town hospitality at the 7th Annual Ozark Gateway Golf Tournament.
The tournament will be held at the Cherokee Village South Course on Saturday, May 16, and will feature a four-person scramble format for golfers of all skill levels. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Winners will be announced at approximately 3 p.m.
The $300 team entry fee includes tournament play, pastries, lunch, and participation in a variety of on-course contests and prizes throughout the day. Players can compete in challenges such as longest drive, longest putt, and closest-to-the-pin, with cash prizes awarded at designated holes.
The tournament will include three competitive flights, with prizes awarded to top teams. Tee box assignments will be based on age groups to ensure fair play. A limited number of golf carts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and early registration is encouraged.
Hosted by the Ozark Gateway Tourist Council, the event supports a tourism co-op program across Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, Sharp, and Stone counties. Visitors are encouraged to extend their stay and explore the region’s rivers, parks, trails, and historic communities.
“This tournament is a great way to bring people together while showcasing the natural beauty and welcoming communities that make our region so special,” said Cathy Drew, executive director of the Ozark Gateway Region. “We love seeing both locals and visitors enjoy a day on the course and then take time to experience everything our area has to offer.”
More than just a golf tournament, the event offers participants a chance to experience the character, scenery, and hospitality that make the Ozark Gateway Region a standout destination.
